End of year giving plays a huge role in how we begin each new year. It helps set the pace for our budget, both for day-to-day ministry and operations, as well as new projects and maintenance.
Jesus lived in a rhythm of work and rest, of engaging with people and then disengaging to be with His Father. At the Inn, God has created and established space for those in ministry to pull back and rest and have their tanks refilled in a way that only He can do. We want to help them “ruthlessly eliminate hurry” for a few days.
Shepherd's Inn is hosting a big outdoor volunteer day on Saturday, September 20th, from 8 AM to 1 PM.
“The day is yours, and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon. It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth; you made both summer and winter.” Psalm 74:16-17
A lot has happened since our last post. We’re excited to announce that Shepherd’s Inn has been generously given land and a house in Petersburg, Tennessee, and we’re in the process of getting it zoned for the ministry. The property is approximately one hour from Franklin, TN, and one hour from Huntsville, AL, right where we were praying to find land!
The last couple months have been full on the road to Shepherd’s Inn. Cheryl and I spent some time in March visiting with similar ministries to what we’ll be doing at the inn. We called it our “tour of inns.” It was a great opportunity to experience, learn and get some much needed R&R in the process.
