Spring(ish) 2023 Update

Greetings from the Inn! It’s been a while since our last update. We took some down time during the holidays to recoup and see family, then picked back up in January. Because of some amazing year-end giving, we’ve been able to hire contractors to complete much of their specific work in the Inn.

This includes our final electrical, installation of all our kitchen appliances (that have been in boxes for a year), a new propane tank installed, new gas lines run to and throughout the house, our water heaters purchased and installed, and our firebox and gas logs furnished. We also are grateful to Rivertree Church for helping us purchase our refrigerators for the Inn. What a blessing!

Now we are beginning bathroom tile in the guest rooms on the main floor and finishing up trim and final painting. Our hope is to open the main floor shortly after Easter and complete the downstairs library and guest rooms soon after.

We’ve also been working on the Carriage House which includes the innkeepers residence and at least one additional guest room. We’re within a couple weeks of completing the residence portion and looking forward to leaving camper life behind.

Volunteer Day

Our next volunteer day at the Inn is this Saturday, March 18 from 8 AM to 1 PM. We’ll be painting trim, inside and out, as well as doing some groundskeeping outdoors. If you would like to serve that day click here to sign up. We’d love to have you join us, and, as always, lunch will be provided.

Prayer Requests

Pray for strength and endurance to finish this part of the journey. The last three years have been an adventure for sure, but they’ve also been challenging. We’re so close to the next chapter of ministry at the Inn, but we’re also tired. Pray that we will have the strength we need to finish this building phase and wisdom to create margin for rest and renewal ourselves.

Pray for churches, businesses, and individuals to partner with us. As we open the doors to begin ministering, we will rely on partnerships and friends of the Inn to help us offer the ministry of the Inn in a cost effective way. We never want money to be a hindrance to those in need of a stay at the Inn. Pray that the Lord will continue to bring new partnerships and patrons to help support Shepherd’s Inn.

Pray for ministers and missionaries who are struggling to care for the many needs in their churches and communities as well as balancing a healthy family life. Pray for protection from the enemy and the wisdom and freedom to create margin for rest and renewal and to set healthy boundaries.

We are looking forward to welcoming guests to the Inn soon, and we’re so grateful that you are a part of this journey with us. If you’ve been supporting us through prayer and/or giving, thank you for your continued support as we move forward. If you’re new to our ministry or you’ve been following our progress for a while, we ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with us and help us provide the ministry of rest, renewal, and care to those who serve in ministry.

We also look forward to sharing more progress and some exciting ways you can be involved with ministry of Shepherd’s Inn soon. You are a blessing!

In Christ,

The Shepherd’s Inn Team
